Free Online Coin Valuations

B and G Coins provides a free, no-obligation online valuation service for small requests from private individuals. If you have coins, medals, tokens or banknotes and would like basic identification, guidance or an indication of potential value, send us clear photos and a short description.

This service is ideal if you are thinking: “what is my coin worth?” or “where can I sell old coins in the UK?” You can also read our guide to where to sell old coins in the UK.

What we can help with

We can usually advise on British coins, ancient coins, hammered coins, gold and silver coins, medals, tokens, banknotes and small inherited groups or collections.

What to send us

  • Clear photos of both sides of each item
  • A close-up of any date, mintmark or inscription
  • The size and weight, if known
  • Any background information you have
  • No more than 6 individual items unless agreed first, or unless you are looking to sell a larger collection to us

What this free valuation includes

Our free online valuation is a general/pre-sale opinion based on the information and photos provided. It is not an insurance valuation and does not include a formal written report.

For private collections, insurance valuations or larger assessments, we also offer a chargeable valuation service. The charge starts at £150 or 5% of the valuation total, whichever is greater, and may be refunded if we subsequently purchase the collection.

Thinking of selling?

If your items are suitable for B and G Coins, we can advise whether we would be interested in buying them. We aim to make the process clear and straightforward, with honest guidance from experienced UK coin dealers.
